Senior Tax Accountant

Overview

We are assisting our Client in their search for a Senior Tax Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to tender and contracts processes, undertaking new country set up, reviewing annual company tax returns, preparing tax reporting, and managing tax audits. The role requires a strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional international offshore drilling operations and good knowledge of accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to tender and contracts process
• Undertake new country set up
• Review annual company tax returns
• Review monthly withholding tax and VAT tax return preparation
• Calculate tax payments due and monitor payment deadlines
• Prepare quarterly and year-end tax reporting
• Prepare response to tax audits and tax authority information requests
• Contribute to the development and upkeep of transfer pricing documentation
• Manage CountryByCountry and Pillar2 reporting processes
• Contribute to the development of internal tax processes
• Keep the Tax Controller appraised of issues
• Work within the framework of the Group’s Tax Policy
• Any other duties as required by the Tax Controller

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Standard/Higher Education
• Exposure and experience of the tax implications of multi-jurisdictional international offshore drilling operations
• Good knowledge of accounting systems
• Good communication skills
• Good attention to detail

Day-to-day

• Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s safety policies through leadership and guidance
• Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety and Energy policies and procedures
• Act as the point of contact for the Finance team with regard to tax compliance issues
• Attend external tax seminars where appropriate
• Keep up to date with technical knowledge and relevant legislation
• Annual Anti Bribery & Corruption training, Corporate Criminal Offence Training
