Overview:

Our Westhill-based client is searching or a Buyer to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. You be responsible for procuring materials and services in a cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in buying marine/technical equipment and supplies within the international Oil & Gas service industry.

Responsibilities:

• Purchasing and expediting authorised requisitions for stores, spares, equipment, and services
• Obtaining approval for purchase of goods exceeding prescribed levels
• Selecting goods meeting required specifications, reviewing prices, and evaluating bids
• Ensuring vendors are aware of any special requirements for shipment/handling of hazardous goods
• Monitoring progress of requisitioned items and expediting outstanding orders
• Reviewing and verifying invoices
• Handling returned goods from vessels as required

Qualifications:

Competence

• Education appropriate for purchasing
• Recognition of sound experience in place of formal qualifications is acceptable
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Packages including database applications

Experience

• Relevant experience in buying marine/technical equipment and supplies within the international Oil & Gas service industry

Day-to-day:

The Buyer will report to the regional PSCM Manager and work closely with the Vessel Manager and other departments to ensure efficient procurement activities related to vendors and sub-contractors supply.
