Commercial Advisor

Our Client is searching for a Commercial Advisor to join their team.

Overview:

As a Commercial Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the review, interpretation, negotiation, and preparation of commercial matters within the oil and gas industry. You will work closely with various departments to ensure the company's best interests are protected and promoted.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a support/lead role in commercial matters such as joint operating agreements, transportation agreements, and product sales contracts
  • Keep senior management apprised of key issues and strategic options
  • Collaborate with other departments to validate and align field development plans with the company's best interests
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies and tactical plans
  • Provide advice and guidance on commercial matters to colleagues, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Represent the company at relevant external meetings and prepare meeting notes
  • Prepare requests for expenditure and provide input to business plans and annual budgets
  • Stay informed about commercial and fiscal developments and participate in industry events
  • Maintain a risk and obligations register related to commercial activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, technical, or engineering discipline
  • Sound judgement and proactive nature
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience of the oil and gas industry, ideally in a commercially focused role with a UK oil and gas operator
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Conversant with industry-specific agreements, contractual terms, and commercial developments

Day-to-day:

  • Monitor statutory requirements for a UK Operator and help maintain the company's license to operate
  • Support business efficiency initiatives and provide commercial support to ad-hoc projects
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies for emissions credits
  • Ensure compliance with oil and gas sales contracts and government requirements for purchasing emissions credits
