Overview
We are recruiting an experienced EPRD Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to take responsibility for overseeing all activities within the 500m safety zones during removal contractor preparation and lifting operations. This role is critical in ensuring that all offshore work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with PFEER regulations.
The OIM will hold overall command and control of the installation in the event of an emergency and will act as the key authority during all campaign activities. Working as part of the offshore vessel team, the successful candidate will operate on an equal‑time rotation and will supervise preparation and lift operations conducted from removal contractor vessels.
This is a pivotal position for a highly competent offshore leader with strong EPRD and decommissioning experience, ensuring safe execution throughout all phases of the campaign.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all activities within the installation's 500m zones during preparation and lifting operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to Safety Case requirements, exceptions, and associated procedures, including the management of operational and emergency bridging documents.
- Lead emergency response efforts, supporting the CSV Master during major emergency events and oil spill responses.
- Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore teams to execute offshore works safely, in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve permits for removal contractor work within the installation's permit to work system.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permit conditions, controls, and regulatory reporting, including monitoring planned liquid and solid discharges during offshore cutting and removal activities.
- Command and control the installation in the event of an emergency, in accordance with PFEER regulations.
Qualifications
Essential:
- OPITO Major Emergency Management Initial Response certification.
- OIM Controlling Emergencies Coaching and Assessment certification.
- OIM Rules and Regulations certification.
- Current Offshore Medical and Survival Certificate.
- MIST certification.
Preferred:
- COMET Investigation System training.
- OPEP Level 1 certification.
- Offshore Search and Rescue Management (OSARM) training.
- Radiation Awareness for Managers and HSE professionals.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
Essential:
- Valid OIM certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for offshore installations.
- Proven supervisory and people management experience in offshore or marine industries.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
Preferred:
- Experience managing construction or modification activities.
Additional Skills/Requirements:
- Collaborative and adaptable approach to work.
- Flexibility to adjust working patterns, rotations, and locations to meet project requirements, sometimes at short notice.
