Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Senior Commercial Advisor to join our client, a leading UK-based provider of integrated infrastructure solutions. Specialising in the management and operation of high-hazard, highly regulated industrial sites, the organisation has a strong presence in Aberdeen and operates across the UK, Europe, and the Americas. Serving sectors such as oil & gas, LNG, power generation, renewables, and chemicals, their mission is to drive asset performance, safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about contributing to a dynamic and innovative organisation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, exceptional skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial operations for key agreements (TPAs, CTIAs, land leases, service agreements, proximity/crossing agreements, pigging agreements), ensuring all contractual obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Act as primary liaison with external stakeholders, including upstream shippers, downstream NGL infrastructure owners, National Gas, and NSTA.
  • Support the framing, negotiation, and execution of new commercial agreements.
  • Assist new shippers during start-up to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate with Gassco on Vesterled facility operations.
  • Work closely with NSMP and legal teams on contract amendments and ad hoc commercial matters.
  • Collaborate with technical teams (pipelines, metering, control room) to align commercial operations with business needs and contractual requirements.
  • Manage SIRGE JV activities.
  • Provide support to operations teams on gas-related issues (outages, gas specifications, process modelling).
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial principles in hydrocarbon allocations.
  • Assist metering team with audits and dispensations related to gas quality and metering equipment.
  • Contribute to resolving commercial disputes effectively.
  • Participate in the commercial operations on-call rota.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Finance, Legal, Business, or Engineering.
  • Proven commercial experience in the UKCS oil and gas industry, ideally within the midstream sector.
  • Strong understanding of commercial agreements (TPAs, proximity agreements, leases, service agreements, decommissioning agreements).
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ideally Power BI.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and business acumen with the ability to identify commercial, operational, and financial risks.
  • Knowledge of upstream operations desirable (e.g., metering, gas quality specifications, dispensations).
  • Understanding of gas metering principles, allocation, attribution, and nomination.
  • Commercial mindset focused on delivery, performance, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical, operations, commercial, and legal teams.
  • Highly organised, proactive, flexible, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with UKCS industry standards and regulations.
